Doesn't mean facts are not alowed here. I simply stated facts. Apple does not have the best hardware you can not say they do. They make great computers but there are always companies who will make a better product then them. Unlike software witch is a mater of Opinion hardware is a mater of Fact and Fact is apple does not have the best hardware. They purchase their hardware from the same places as everyone else.
First of all I want to apologize for calling you a troll, that was uncalled for.
Apple has never been about the producing products solely based on their specs. In fact, Apple likes to downplay the specs and focus on the the integration of hardware and software. Hence, the total user experience. In some cases there are good reasons why Apple chooses not to use the latest hardware (Nvidia/Intel issue, battery life, etc.). One of the down falls of the Windows PC manufacturers is there insistance that all the user cares about is specs. Average Joe cares more about what they can get done whether then if the laptop has the latest generation of processor in it. You can continue to argue all you want about which computer manufacturer has the best hardware but at the end of the day Apple is still packing their stores and fulfulling millions of on-line orders for soon to be very happy customers. If Apple followed the trend that the rest of the Windows PC manufactures are following there would be no doubt that Apple would not be as success as they are.
Apple follows the less is more mantra and guess what an awful lot of people agree with that by voting with their dollars.

Now that the MBs have been updated and the US Apple Online Store is still down, I hope that the RAM prices have been cut.

While there's some positive link between Mac-usage and intellect, you shouldn't take that information as meaning that posting on a Mac Forum gets you any intellect points.
So far, you've added nothing but focusing on the messenger. Which is typical, if knowledge about the topic of discussion is superficial at best.
For all to see.
Sleep tight under your Beatles blanket, son.
Sorry Jackie, but I'd want to focus on the messenger too if the subject was 'Bach vs the Beatles' (cough) and the messenger was as condescending, stubborn, ridiculous and as entertaining as yourself.
No one's really trying to claim the Beatles are better than Bach (I can hardly believe I just said that statement seriously), but your arguments are hilariously absurd.
Repeatedly posting in a Beatles thread and sneering at such infantile pop music. Making presumptions about someone's education and throwing your own degrees around. I could go on, but after reading both your stupendous first paragraph of the quote above and your "I have this, and this, and this" signature, it's dawned on me that you must be a joke character. If so, well done. I love the ironic claims of maturity and intelligence.
---
As for the Beatles. My (lower-classed, uneducated) world is a better place with their music in it. ...innit!

I completely agree. It would be a big surprise to me that any method of connecting to an OS X Mac would allow it to be controlled without specific permissions granted by the administrator account, suggesting these guys left the account open on purpose or allowed remote access with the password known. In other words, once you access the computer you still have to get the operating system to give you permission to screw around.
On the other hand, if this exploit is actually true, it doesn't really matter who's driver is to blame: somehow they were able to subvert OS X's security. THAT would be an issue for Apple and for all of us.
All things considered, I don't believe they did what they claim they did.
Yes, it's always good to bury your head in the sand.. makes the problem goes away or even better, makes the problem non-existent. Did you read the part where they are in contact with Apple and microsoft?.. you think apple employees have time to deal with a crackpot?. I believe if this was a joke, you'd know.

I just upgraded to CS5 a few months ago for $600. The 5.5 upgrade would cost another $400. Adobe is easily my least favorite company in the world.

MBP's on September 12th are sounding even better and better. Now there's no big iMac to introduce, but there is a macbook pro update that I need to be introduced to!
24" iMac SWEET! If I needed a new desktop, I don't think I'd get one though. I've got a perfectly good 20" FP at home. I guess I'd have to get the MacPro. Darn it :D
Get the 24" iMac and span with your 20" screen - two monitor goodness!!

However, I can't agree that the Bible is "neutral" or relative in that it can correctly be interpreted in any way someone chooses. The Bible is clear in it's express purpose as God's revelation of himself to mankind. The Bible is judged and interpreted against itself using the literary and textual tools of interpretation that we have available to us.
Of course not any interpretation is valid; however, the Bible is very complex and contradicts itself in places. There is no set interpretation that can said to be right, rather a spectrum that can be justified. "Clear" is not a word I would use.
Like all communication it can only be correctly interpreted in light of the intended meaning of it's original author. This is where faith comes into the process. Followers of Christ hold to the belief that it is God's inspired and inerrant word. The living God is it's author and he inspired men to write within their own historical and literary context to specific audiences at a specific time. All of these contexts become clues that help guide us to His intended meaning.
This is obviously where we part ways. For me the Bible is the product of man. Nothing more.
God's word calls us to "love one another" and to be servant leaders in bearing one another's burdens. Westboro seeks to judge, spread hate, and cause dissension. Sure they quote scripture and hide behind an illusion of faith, but they take verses out of context and aren't living out God's commands.
However, you are still using one interpretation that you have chosen. There is no way to know if you are right. I agree that WBC are at the extreme end, but the overall message of the Bible doesn't seem to be clear. Just look at the issue of homosexuality- many "normal" (you know what I mean!) Christians find homosexuality difficult to justify, whilst others have no issue with it. The Bible states many times how "wrong" homosexuality is but other passages suggest otherwise. Both interpretations seem to be possible without stretching the facts.
So whilst it may be possible to say the WBC aren't living out God's commands, it's not possible to say whether the Christian that is uncomfortable homosexuals is living out God's commands or not. I would hope God would have no issue with homosexuality, but that hope is based upon an extrinsic sense of morality.

I'm hoping this is an April Fool and someone just got their date a bit wrong. I really don't like 3D and I absolutely hate the 3D bandwagon that seems determined to ram the technology down our throats. It's terrible. My eyes are not fooled by 3D effects. I'm hoping this is just an effort to get everyone to buy an iPad 2.
Personally, I don't believe the story.

I tried Rapidweaver, but it wasn't for me the template system seemed to get in the way when I tried it. I do a lot of CSS coding and work a lot with Wordpress. I can used other programs to write code for Wordpress, Espresso works well and I use CSSEdit for working exclusively with CSS, but there are times I want a good WYSIWYG editor for laying out pages quickly and not have to switch between a preview and code view. So far KomPozer is the one that is the closest, but it is buggy and unfinished, I always find myself going back to Dreamweaver and wishing for something else.
Actually i was going to mention Wordpress, but I don't use it, so...
If you are seasoned and comfortable to work in CSS, RW is probably not for you either.
The template part is what I actually love. They are malleable, and you can make your own. Coming from a magazine design background it just seemed very analogous to how I always worked and thought in print work...

I find it weird that you get a remote control and front row on a lower end machine but you can't even get it as a custom configuration option on the higher end machines. I understand that these are supposed to be the "professional" machines and iMacs are for "consumers," but in the real world that delineation doesn't mean much. Many people buying Mac Pros are getting them as their home computer, and it's pretty lame that you drop extra money on the high end and can't do some of the really cool things that can be done on a lower end model.
No remote? No Photo Booth? That's got to be a deal breaker for a lot of folks. ;)
As for the real world, many professionals have funds to purchase these machines as they will use the speed. It seems to me that most "consumers" are not able or willing to plop down the cash to buy a Mac Pro when an iMac or MacBook or even Mac Mini will more than suit their needs.

Agree. 3D is the Quadaphonic sound system of the 21st Century. Headaches, dizzyness, backaches, you name it - 3D brings it on.

My point is, the ping-pong effect, when it was used, was deliberate. It does sound strange now, but I remember when these albums came out people listened to them on headphones and thought the effect was cool.
I'm no Beatles historian by any means, but correct me if I'm wrong: weren't the first albums recorded in mono? The stereo versions were later, rather crude simulations of stereo, which is why they never made it to CD.
You are correct sir. I'd also agree with you that Rubber Soul and Revolver are the two best albums. They should not be interfered with.

Have the physical dimensions changed from the older Macbook? the prnews article mentions more than once that it's '1 inch thin'' - is this something new? I can't recall...
The old model was 1.08 inches (2.75 cm), so it appears not.

RELAX dude!
Not everyone get one for free! It's only in US!
I can only get a discount on the old model! And no discount at all for the new.
Glad someone else said this!
I'm confused though. I was told on the phone the old nano would cost me 155. Take off the 100 rebate and it would cost me 55. Went and bought my 24" iMac online and took the iPod offer and it cost 129. So i am hoping the rebate is still 100 and it will only end up costing me 29 :D

That's funny.
I would've returned the wife before the iPad. Those are easier to find.
no kidding, I didn't have to wait in a line for 13 hours to get the chance to buy a wife, just for her dad to tell me sorry she's sold out and to try again tomorrow.

Time for Apple to learn what a patch is. Best example of patching desperately being needed is Xcode which requires the whole 4.25gb app to be downloaded every single time they update. They could change 1 line of code and you need to download 4.25gb. That's just bad design.

My wife loved this announcement seeing as she has been complaining about the decreased battery life in our 12 inch PB lately.
I for one salute Apple in its efforts to ensure a safe computing environment.
And, my salute has NOTHING to do with the fact that my 18 month old and very used iBook battery currently only holds a 10 minutes charge.
:) :) :)

It seems that Apple has abandoned the product that made them a household name. Why would you buy a huge HDD iPod, when you could get an iPhone or an iPod touch? Eventually, iPhones, iPod touches, and iPads will be 64GB or 128GB. The first iPod I bought, had a black and white screen and was 40GB. Add to that, the eventual cloud, why would you need a portable device with more than 128GB storage and wifi? BTW, this is coming from the guy that always buys the highest storage capacity, because I think it's worth an extra $100 to get twice the storage capacity.
