Is that why AT&T sold a lot more iPhones that vz last quarter?

Also vz just wants you to go over your cap. More money for them

Check VZW site, VZW charges no overage charges, data is unlimited. no caps no overage charges just unlimited data. WHAT DON'T you understand.
And the VZW throttling post on BGR.com was just a BS warning, NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN THROTTLED! Go the androidforums and you will not find anyone that have ever been throttled!

Now with att try and use alot of data then att will claim you are tethering and automatically switch you to tiered data.

after 2GB , att charges 10 a GB. that can get expensive fast!

I meant when they do put caps on.

By the way I use like 2 gigs a week on AT&T and they leave me alone

Apple may have released Xcod 2.4. But it's only for those at the WWDC. I checked Apple's ADC website, and they have it listed, but it redirects you to http://connect.apple.com. I did some more digging, and they only have 2.3 on the site. They might upload it after the WWDC.

Hopefully when you download FCX from the App store it does not mess with FCP 7, so then you will have everything FCP 7 has and also FCX, best of both worlds.
Yes I know the "pros" want more, always will. I don't consider myself a pro, I commented before on my projects only 30% are paid jobs, while 70% is fun or free jobs I do for friends hoping for some word of mouth to spread. For what I do FCX new power will take advantage of my 8 Core Pro, while hopefully making all my projects look even better. So for an amuture this is great especially the price tag.
Like almost everyone here I dislike iMovie 11 and rarely use it, not even sure I used it for a simple project since iMovie 10 since I disliked that also, though I played with it enough to use it fully if needed.
I'm most curious about the learning curve, I know both iMovie and FCP so I just hope this is an easy transition so my work keeps moving and I want that paid % to go up.

2008 iMac 20" with the following specs:

    Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66GHz, 4GB RAM @ 800MHz, 500GB @ 7200 RPM, ATI Radeon HD2600 @256MB

    Harman/Kardon Soundsticks II
    Logitech MX Revolution

Laptop - MacBook Pro 13" with the following specs:

    Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM @ 1066MHz, 250GB @ 5400RPM, Nvidia Geforce 320m

As you can see the Apple keyboard is a bit broken... I think I'm gonna replace it with Logitech diNovo Mac Edition.

    I also have an iPhone 4 (32GB)

I used to have a 2nd monitor connected to the iMac (Dell 2007WFP, very nice monitor), but now I have connected the iMac to my 32" Samsung (running Plex) and the cable under the iMac is a mini-toslink connected to my Logitech Z5500. Behind the iMac I have a Western Digital MyBook Studio Edition @ 1TB

Things I want for my setup right now is a new desk, Just Mobile's Alupad and their Xtand for MacBook Pro. Oh, and a new keyboard (as mentioned above)...

Next year I'm planning to buy the 2nd generation iPad and when I get a job I'll start saving for either a 27" iMac or a Mac Pro + Dell U2711 (oh well, that's the dream...)

I'm fine with Best Buy... but Radio Shack & Toys "R" Us, not so much.

Seriously, who cares who sells them? Do they affect how you live? This cracks me up. No matter who sells them, we all have to get up and go to work and live our lives.

Doesn't matter where Apple sells its products. Better to make your products available everywhere than in just one or two specific stores. Remember: Not every city has an Apple store and can be quite a distance to the closest.

Best Buy is an ideal place to sell iPads, since its a consumer electronics store.... Apple is a consumer electronics company ( these days ).

BTW - Best Buy has been selling iPads for a long time, so only makes sense they sell iPad 2...

    ^^^^ Very true!!

I disagree that people don't care about flash players. Plenty of sites out there use flash extensively and do not offer a non-flash version. Adding adobe flash capability to the iphone would make it that much better in my opinion. Just because apple doesn't want it, doesn't mean it's not useful. I for one believe that apple "sometimes" listens to it's users, and if enough people complain, apple will react. Think apps for the iphone (remember apple's stand, it's an ipod, not a computer), cut/paste and push service. Background apps seem to be the next barrier to be broken, why not flash?

As far as adobe and MS "holding back" web progression, the whole point of flash is that it is a tool that makes highly interactive media sites easier to accomplish.

I wonder if anyone payed 1.29 for revolution number nine.

With the digital signal... you can flip the waveform and play it in reverse... much easier than what we had to do by spinning our turntables backwards to hear the "real lyrics".

    /Jim

Since I posted this... I have been reading the "Paul is Dead" hoax. There are hundreds of clues... but this had to be one of the most telling:

Revolution 9 - various bits of chatter and noise can be heard that represent Paul's death, including "his voice was low and his eyes were high and his eyes were closed", "Paul died", "my fingers are broken and so is my hair. I'm not in the mood for wearing clothing", "maybe even dead", "you become naked (the way a body is buried)", and most interesting, there is a clip where a car crashes and catches on fire. "Paul" can be heard screaming "Get me out." Finally, the voice repeating "number nine, number nine" at the beginning, when played backward, says the infamous phrase "Turn me on, dead man, turn me on, dead man."

    /Jim

If you're right, I might have to come and kill ya'!
    I can't wait anymore.

And why do you think a silent MacBook Pro update would steal any of the "iPad thunder"? It's quite a boring update we're waiting for. A faster processor, a step up in HD sizes and maybe a faster (or slower) graphics card. That's all. No one - 'cept those of us waiting for the updated Book - cares / will notice.

I think you're staing a very good point, comrade :) The only people who are going to buy a MBP is the ones that cares and who know they're going to buy it despite of the iPad.

I dont think either that the iPad will loose customers because of a "minor" MBP update. Just look at the pre-order numbers. Haven't they passed over 50,000 now? And that in just days? I mean, it shows the interest for the iPad and people will not ask themself wether go get an iPad or the new Macbook Pro, they know they want that ****INGS iPad.

So in all, mr. Jobs have no reason to delay the launch of the new MBP. Because he know that the iPad will be a sucsess and it won't matter when the hell the MBP is released... Hmmm...that makes me wonder why he haven't released it before allready :S

Unless they need one of the new bells and whistles, why upgrade? The old version still works, so unless there is a must have feature then there is no compelling reason to upgrade; other than you *want* the latest version independent of *needing* it.
If they do need it, but can't afford it; they probably need to reassess their line of work.

Problem is, Adobe in the past has been really bad at updating, even basic bugs etc with current versions of software. Basically, once a new version comes out....seems Adobe likes to bail on previous users with patches and bug fixes.

Me personally, I paid a lot for CS5, and I'd like at a minimum to be able to get bug fixes, patches, performance tweaks, for longer than 1 year. Ok, when CS6 is released, fine....scale back up bug fixes, etc. But I don't buy this half point release BS.

Did the Apple engineers forget to add a music video icon on the left side of iTunes 7? Everthing else is there except music video.

That's what I'm wondering. I have tons of music videos and now there is no listing of them for me to look through.

Sorry Nipsy, i know you weren't talking about Apple's speed in your posts and i meant to say that in my last post, but i'm too tired and must have missed it out somewhere in typing everything.

Again, more good replies from you.

I agree in some parts, but i also agree with MacCoaster.

I propose that we don't design chips for Apple, but let them know what we want. Sure, some Apple people may (and i'm not saying definately do), check up on a few forums to find out what their customers want, but until you hit apple with multiples of requests for what you want, you won't get anywhere by just sitting here and complaining about it (again, not directing this at you, Nipsy, but everyone who does complain).

Right. When you eat off of your gear you're always going to find ways to not spend SO MUCH on said gear so you can put more food in your mouth. Which is why I really don't have an issue claiming student-ship if I am able to. I personally don't do it with certain software titles, but I will do it with Apple hardware and others. AVID Media Composer is $2500 regular price give or take a few $100s. The EDU version is $295 . . . . . okay I am going to hop on that EDU bandwagon right now.

I agree, and am fortunate to have a legit edu connection. That said, companies vary on their proof requirements. Apple, in my experience, will give you the edu price by just saying you are a student/teacher/buying it for one. I've seen them sell a Mac at that price to grandparents, etc. Pretty decent policy. MS just requires a .edu email, but then again technet is so cheap that the edu discount pales. of course, with technet using the software in a production environment is a license violation.

Just as the lenses you acquire in still/video photography will cost more than your body, software will be the major cost in building any rig.

Oh ya. I have several pieces of glass that individually cost more than the body. People complain about software lock in; MS / APPLE ?Adobe et. al. have nothing on the camera manufacturers and their proprietary mounts.

Read the comment thoroughly. ANYONE can learn the apps, any goofball like you stated yourself in the bold. I didn't put any time restraint on this goofball. But I did mention that it take far more to be a good designer.

Haven't heard much from Obama about JOBS, JOBS, JOBS lately ...

Perhaps if you started paying attention... only nine or so days ago:

During a speech to U.S. and Brazilian business leaders, Obama said he sees opportunities for the U.S. to sell more goods and services to Brazil's rapidly growing market of about 200 million consumers. He says the $50 billion in goods and services the U.S. sells to Brazil support more than 250,000 jobs back home.

    http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D9M2FVU00.htm

and wrote a piece in USAToday just a few days beforehand:

But in this increasingly interconnected and fiercely competitive world, our top priority has to be creating and sustaining new jobs and new opportunities for our people.

Lately, we've seen signs that we're moving in the right direction. Our economy added nearly a quarter of a million new private sector jobs last month, and the unemployment rate is at its lowest level in nearly two years. And to keep that progress going, we've got to keep competing for every new job, every new industry, and every new market in the 21st century.

That's one of the reasons I will travel to Latin America this week to strengthen our economic relationship with neighbors who are playing a growing role in our economic future.

    http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/forum/2011-03-18-column18_ST3_N.htm

    Do try to keep up.

    :::

As for Rand Paul's objections, it's so geopolitically and historically ignorant, it's beyond contempt. It's been hilarious watching the right run around to find a consistent line of attack on this. Congress hasn't declared war since the 1940s.

This is a multilateral action with the backing of a Security Council resolution. The Daily Telegraph's rantings about Al Qaeda are little more than Gaddafi propaganda.

Hizbullah is a Shiite movement of southern Lebanon. There are no Shiites in North Africa, where almost all Muslims are Sunni. Hamas is a Palestinian movement and does not have a branch franchise in Libya. The people of Benghazi and Misrata, together amounting to 1.3 million, the backbone of the liberation movement, are not al-Qaeda, which is not a mass movement. In fact, al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb is like a few hundred guys and is an Algerian organization. I know, I know, pointing out that Michelle Bachmann has said something uninformed is like pointing out that Lady Gaga has done something outrageous. But we are told that Bachmann made a positive impression among possible Republican voters in Iowa recently, and the world in which we live has such persons as potential presidential candidates.

Sarah Palin wants the US military to go into Libya, kill Muammar Qaddafi and then get back out. Palin doesnt seem to realize that 110,000 US troops on the ground took 8 months just to find Saddam Hussein after they had invaded and occupied Iraq, and that at that point were were bound by Pottery Barn rules per Colin Powell we had broken the vase and had now owned it. That vase cost about a trillion dollars all told, as Obama pointed out tonight, along with thousands of US and Iraqi lives. Palin lives in a magical world where she can wave her wand and Sarah suddenly gets her way.

Newt Gingrich was for the intervention before he was against it.

And Mitt Romney is all for invading Libya, but thinks the United States should have done it all by itself without consulting allies and apparently should bear all the costs of doing so. Romney alleged that the US followed France into Libya, though in fact the US fired 110 Tomahawk missiles at Qaddafis anti-aircraft batteries as the engagement was beginning, making it safe for the French pilots to fly missions there.

    http://www.juancole.com/2011/03/obama-on-libya-vs-trump-bachmann-romney-gingrich-and-carrot-top.html

As for US interests, many of you including the racist fringe christianist Pauls, are not connecting the dots:

For those who ask what the U.S. national interest in Libya is, the correct question is about broad U.S. regional interests. Had the Libyan crisis emerged before the Arab uprisings, intervention would still have been the moral course though it would have been harder to make the case about U.S. interests. But there is a link among the revolutions sweeping the Arab world that cannot be denied.

First, the uprisings have been, stunningly, peaceful. Even in Yemen where weapons are everywhere, hundreds of thousands have remained adamant in facing the bullets of security forces by repeating Cairos Tahrir Square chant, Silmiyyah, Silmiyyah (peaceful, peaceful). For thousands, a whiff of dignity and freedom has overcome the fear of death.

Their success will be the antidote to militant extremists and thus in the U.S. interest and their failure would surely turn their energies toward militancy. To be sure, as the Middle East goes through unstable times, al Qaeda will find new opportunities and Washington must remain vigilant. But al Qaedas ultimate undoing will be when the vast majority of Arabs and Muslims see it as the primary threat to their aspirations.

    http://www.brookings.edu/opinions/2011/0328_libya_telhami.aspx

The entire point of this is in the long-term. Apart from denying a victorious Gaddafi an opportunity to create trouble to his neighbours and destabilise the region, it is to provide support for popular uprisings in order to deny radicalism the oxygen it needs.
