Yep, wrong forum... good luck on getting an answer. You should consider moving this to the video section, or get on google to find your answer. Also, there are dozens (if not hundreds) of websites that cater specifically to digital video. MacRumors, while having many users with varied skill sets, you'll find that most are just consumers who happen to love Macs. I would say that the majority of people who come to MacRumors don't even know what After Effects is or what it's used for.

I have my fingers crossed for a quiet, minor refresh come Tuesday. Something like price drops on upgrades, or whatever.

Go to Ebay, do a search for similar models, and make sure you have "completed listings" checked. This will show you what they've been selling for (or failing to sell for).

I've been coming to this forum as a registerd user since 2004. Today, I found myself looking at this thread:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=12260325
Seems like a nice review of a nice product by Targus. And a nice link to the Amazon product page for said product.
But there's a problem.
The link to Amazon is an obvious affiliate link - which isn't a problem in and of itself, but it made me curious.
Here is the affiliate link from that thread. The 'tag=macrumors-20' part is the part that tells Amazon that if the click results in a sale, Amazon will pay a percentage of money to the affiliate with the id of 'macrumors-20'.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?link_code=ur2&camp=1789&tag=macrumors-20&creative=9325&path=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Fproduct%2FB004N62HZI
I have no problem with affiliate marketing. The problem I wish to point out is that this forum has rules. And the thread I'm talking about breaks those rules. If the original poster would have said, "this is an affiliate link ... if you buy, I get paid, etc." I probably would have moved along.
From the rules page:
http://guides.macrumors.com/Help:Forum_Rules
"Advertising. Using the forums for advertising, site or product promotion, or for business deals and offers. You may not make posts to promote commercial, personal, or not-for-profit websites, products, or services. Threads will be deleted if their purpose is to advertise, announce, or promote products, services, or organizations, build traffic at other websites, carry out business activities, or other similar purposes that do not benefit our forum community."
Now really, I don't have a big problem with any of this. Whatever. So someone wants to make a buck. Ok. So do I.
But here's what's really puzzling. I left a comment on the thread a few hours ago. I simply wrote, "Nice affiliate link."
I even hit the 'Report Post' button on the orginal post. Only because I read the rules & saw a violation. Sorry, for being a rat. I thought Arn would like to know what's going on on his forum. That someone might be breaking his rules -- trying to make money by piggybacking on the gobs of traffic this website gets.
Some time ago, my "Nice affiliate link." comment has been deleted. The thread is still active.
In summary, here are the facts:
1. A thread was started as an obvious affiliate sales pitch disguised as a review.
2. The Amazon affiliate ID of profit-seeker is 'macrumors-20'. (By the way, all Amazon affiliate IDs end in '-20'.
3. The thread was reported for moderation.
4. My public comment, calling attention to the affiliate link, was deleted & the thread remains active.
Draw your own conclusions.
Arn? Are you there?

I suppose it's Sony's fault for not having a low-speed Memory Stick then. I've found SD's to be perfect. I've played 640*480 H.264 videos off SD cards in the past, heck even MicroSD has never lagged. The comparison was just what one shop here offered, of course it would be different at a pro camera shop or wherever.
I doubt the PSP needs anything faster than that.

We had the sweepstakes feature of our app added to the App store yesterday. Now people can submit their Oscars picks for a chance to win up to $10,000. Our app is just $.99 and you can get it in the App store here: Awards Hero: Oscars Edition (http://bit.ly/aso0LT)
Prize is varied on sales numbers so tell your friends to get the app! (and it makes the facebook part of the app more fun to have more friends to compare your movie picks)

Leave out the smilies and people think you're having a blah day, put them in and it's a smiley war.
What do you expect from a rebuttal to MacBandit's previous comments on creating a blah post and stomping on peoples dreams? ;)
Now KC wants to see the dancing pink elephant ... sorry can't do it, he's drunk right now. :(

I rented a movie from iTunes on my iMac and I was able to successfully sync it to my iPhone. However, when I synched my iPad, the rental did not appear on any iTunes screen. Shouldn't I be able to move a movie I rented from iTunes on my desktop to my iPad?

Hi,
I'm helping my parents transition in to a new area. Google maps has a feature where if you type in "Japanese restaurants" near "111 Main St. San Francisco, CA" you will see the map populate local restaurants near this address. I have several search terms like the above mentioned japanese restaurants and also laundromats and several other terms. Is there any way to combine these searches in to one map and you can filter between the genres of destinations?
Thanks so much.

Just because we're hearing about portal player making the chips Now doesn't mean that they were just selected now. Who's to say they picked PP to make the chips before the phones were put into production? The sequence of rumors released doesn't indicate the sequence of events apple is taking.
You'd think that, wouldn't you. But not only is that not the case, the reality is actually worse than I said. Apparently PortalPlayer has until 2008 to put together the chip. That's what the article says...
(Actually the EE Times article is awful and literally backs up MacRumor's summary without actually imparting anything that would give you confidence in it being real. The EE Times article mentions the iPhone once and then switches to talking about "the next generation iPod Video"; I think the author is just confused and wanted to conflate the two for the sake of the headline.)

Hey guys, so I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro.
Obviously my new disks do not have the new Windows 7 drivers needed for this computer since W7 didn't exist then. I got Windows 7 working but it dosent have nessisary drivers aka most custum buttons dont work, sound dosent work, video is ok, but most hardware isnt working to full capacity.
Anyway, where Do I get them, and How? Are thew on snow leopard disks?
Thanks Guys

Hi,
I have been noticing considerable lag on my 2010 15" MBP (4GB ram) whilst using Photoshop Cs5.
I heard from my friend that if I were to use an external drive as a scratch disk, it would help.
I was wondering if this is true, and if so, what are the recommended external HDD?
Why not just get more RAM? Its getting cheaper and cheaper you could probably find it for around $80.... And that will be better than a scratch disk.
