Maybe they should just have Candlestick park for a separate event for people that just want to see the keynote.
So these guys pay $1000 to NOT see a keynote?? .... I think you see the obviou$ flaw in your logic. That's like having a Presidential fundraiser and the Presidential candidate not showing up because he's across the street, in the park, kissing babies and shaking hands. Yeah, the similarity isn't that close, but it's good enough for an example.

i just think how funny it is that ipad2 are being sold at a kids toy store... however if you think about it, apple is aiming for a younger crowd. Way of the future.. "start young"

The MacBook doesn't need a Core 2 Duo processor. Apple needs to leave a gap between the MacBook and the MacBook Pro.
That is marketing for losers.
If there is a gap, and Apple doesn't fill it, someone else will. An artificial gap like this one, when Intel's price for Yonah and Merom at same clock speed is identical, just annoys people. At the moment this is still acceptable; Merom production is not a full capacity yet, and you can't expect Apple to update all products simultaneously, but in two months time MacBook sales would just disappear.
Smaller screen, smaller harddisk, integrated graphics, these are all things that people can accept because they save money. Using CoreDuo doesn't save Apple any money; that kind of gap would be just taking your customers for idiots. And I could not possibly imagine that kind of thinking from Apple at all.

This might be silly, but there is nothing particularly 'Apple' about that sign. Other than the beautiful white typeface against black canvas, of course. As people have pointed out, it isn't Myriad set. Why would Apple change their font for one banner? Do they do this regularly?
Isn't it possible that this sign belongs to another company showcasing software etc at Macworld? Doesn't Apple normally have some sort of branding on their banners?
Excuse the ignorance if I have no idea.
David
The banner has a huge :apple: underneath the slogan. It is branded and definitely Apple. Something in the air is probably iTunes Movie Rentals with Apple TV or the new iMac (don't know how something in the air applies to iMac but I'm sure Steve will enlighten us) ;)

I don't really think it's a big deal to have to connect your iDevice to your computer to update firmware every so often. You're going to have to connect it to sync anyways. However, I'll probably use this feature. That is, if it'll be available for AT&T customers?

So, it looks like Apple is trying to fix the problem by keeping the MacBook cooler, thus preventing the heat sink from expanding enough to come into contact with the cable. A simple, elegant solution, except it will likely cause increased fan use and decreased battery life
Not so elegant then, eh?

I was joking. I don't think we need a society of of Dr. House walking around.
Me = INTJ, if you were curious. :P
Ah, that explains why I didn't get your joke (the J somewhat limits spontaneity) :P
I'm an INTP and most of my friends are NTs.
I agree with you completely, I couldn't imagine anything worse. Interestingly, a lot of people on the AS get IxTx on the myers-briggs, usually INTx
Here's the article in any case, if you ever need to defend yourself against a rabid asspie lol

At that price, I hope Apple considers preinstalling Vista on its machines.
240 bucks for Boot Camp is ludacris, when you'll probably hardly use it anyway...
I don't really understand your logic. If Apple preinstalls Vista, they'll simply pass the cost on to you. Pre-installed does not equal free.

How. Many. Full. Stops. Do. They. Want. To. Cram. Into. One. Advert? Have they ever heard of the comma? It's this really useful little squiggle that can be used to separate items in a list.

I find it hard to believe that anyone doesnt already have any Beatles tunes they want already.
Still if its good PR for Apple and further marginalises the zoon, thats OK by me.
...you could say that about 50% of the artists that are already on iTunes.

I respect the fact that he and any developer can do what ever they wish, and move on to do other things, but to use the review process as your excuse is lame. Sure, everyone knows and agrees it's a bit harsh of a process, but he's leaving exactly why? Because it's a 2 week wait for approval? Because Apple polices content to make sure it won't hinder performance on the device? The developers all know the rules, and not much has changed from day one. I understand frustration, but this is a bit extreme to prove a point. There are better ways to go about it.
Just my opinion...
I think he did a great job on the app, and I'm disappointed he's walking away from it.

I surely hope so, comics and manga would be a huge hit especially in Japan.I agree that comics etc would be big.
However - I'm also interested in the electronic Ink technologies that are easy on the eyes and require almost no battery. I doubt Apple would make such a simple device, but who knows.
It would be very interesting to read Lord of the Rings and have the soundtrack playing - synchronised to where you're up to in the book. Or the book with excerpts from the movie.

What these naysayers are NOT saying is what pro features are missing. Until they list something wrong with it, they are just being irrational. My experience is, lots of guys don't like their pro apps getting too easy to use, because they want their skills to be considered special. They hate it when, "Anyone can do it".
Yes i imagine this is partly true, because creative/talented upstarts who do not have years of complex/technical experience, on a much smaller budget can preform at a much closer level to those with many more years of experience.
I say closer level because as mentioned earlier there is much more that goes into professional editing than software know how. With that said, the upstarts present real competition to the entrenched because they can - on a smaller budget - more easily produce comparable work - which might have the effect of lowering the amount entrenched professionals can charge for their work.

I sincerely hope everyone else is having a much better experience than I/

Heya Quilentro:
Sorry to hear about your experience. No company is perfect and every one screws up sometime or other. In my years of experience with Apple, they seem to screw up a whole lot less than any other computer maker I've ever dealt with. For instance, I had to sue a certain Texas company to get them to honor their warranty. Never had to do that with Apple. :)
Cordially,
B.G., waiting for the support site to right itself so he can get a new battery for the 12" PB.

All hail Steve Jobs!
Yeah, you keep drinking that Kool-aid buddy. :p ;) :D
Don't get me wrong, I think the new iMac is awesome. I currently use a G4 iMac myself. I'm just making a case for the Conroe minitower, that's all. ;)

actually NATO doesn't come into play ... or do you see any german troops ? ;) ...
Good point. The involvement of Britain and France would seem enough, I guess, but you're correct, it's not a NATO operation.
... Just think about it: Sarkozy got funding for his last campaign illegally from libya. Can there be a more convinient way of getting away from that dirty laundry than bombing them into oblivion ? While at home showing how much of a strong leader he is for increasing popularity ?
Anne Applebaum made a similar argument in Slate just a few days ago, arguing that France, really Sarkozy, was pushing for the intervention in kind of 'wag the dog' scenario.
