The banner is current products (other than the Tiger disc) and is being waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy over analysed.
You are right!
Nothing new here!
I'm really looking forward to see what's happening on 10th August, even if I am not in the market for new gear, except for a new iPod.
A week to go. Nice.

Geez, this is a MONEY LOSER if there ever was one.
I loved the beatles when I was 6.
But, these days who's going to be buying these tracks!!!
If they are remastered, I will buy their entire catalog. Of course, I'd be buying on CD and not iTunes most likely. Unless iTunes has some kind of exclusives or a great price for the collection.
And for the record, I'm only 25, and I didn't hear The Beatles' music from my parents. :)

Wow. Here's a cookie.
Chocolate chip cookie? Those are my favourites! :)
Given that Clear Channel banned 4 Beatles songs in the wake of 9/11, the billboard prognostication by R0bert was slightly amusing.
luv ya bunches! xoxoxo

Uhm, yeah. Saying "this is not true and that's it" is no different than "this is true and that's it."

Your logic is flawed, kid. You need the right tools, BEFORE you can make money with them.
Learn the trade, not the tool and you won't have that problem, "kid". I didn't need a 1k$ compiler/profiling suite to learn programming and I certainly didn't need a 500k$ PA-RISC box with 20k$ worth of HP-UX licenses to learn Unix systems administration.
Yet these days I do both at a level that could earn me enough to buy that stuff (and I actually do the Unix stuff everyday professionally which does pay enough to buy that stuff, though I sometimes regret not going into the programming side).
Why you would need every last version of the entire CS suite to get into graphics and design quite eludes the mind.

I am 73 years old, I live in Rogers, AR as does my daughter. My daughter is a Walmart employee! She does not have a mustache! The preceding remark is, in my opinion, unnecessary, cruel and sexist.
There is a great deal about Wal Mart to depise but none of them justify such a gatuitous attack on women, many of whom are single parents, that work hard there to support their families.:(
I'm sure it was all fun and games. It's hard for us Arkansans though. Desipte what reasons people hate Wal-Mart for, they are always a big deal up in our community (local NWA resident here). What I do see though is a lot of under class citizens in our neck of the woods who are able to pay for certain things that they probably couldn't afford elsewhere.

wont miss him I think the Facebook app could be much better
That may be true about the bugs but it's considered to be the best Facebook app on any mobile platform and he alone worked on it. He does say in his Twitter posts (@joehewitt) that bug fixes were already submitted and I believe push notifications as well.
When you hear stories, like this week and the political bobble head fiasco, you really wonder what is going on at Apple.

I'm sorry, I would buy a iPad 3D, just so I could play Angry Birds in 3D. This coming from someone who vowed never to play nice with the Apple iEcosystem. But if Apple can do it, and HP/Palm and MS are nowhere in sight with their 3D tablets, well... iPad it is I guess.

Wal-Mart uses loss-leading priced CD sales to draw people into the store.
I work for Target... while we do not always underprice CD's, in many products, that is the case. If someone goes to buy that one product (that the store takes a loss on) the store hopes that they will pick up other items while they are there.
Target sells a lot of the iTunes pre-paid cards... and TONS of iPod accessories.

Both of you are wrong.
Apple is a vertical systems integrator and vendor. They sell an vertically integrated solution that includes both software and hardware. They've been like this since the 70s, back when it was in-style.
These days, these types of vendors are rare. IBM still is with some POWER machines running AIX, HP has their Itanium/HP-UX systems and of course Oracle and the SPARC/Solaris boxes, but of course, these are mostly big-Iron Unix solutions, which is about the only place you'll find vertical solutions anymore.
Apple probably is the last of the consumer vendors doing vertical integration.
Ding, ding, ding....we have a winner! The correct answer is: Apple is an all-in-one company, integrating both hardware and software.

You're criminals, and I can't _WAIT_ until it's easy for Adobe to track and fine you. People in the late 90s thought they could steal mp3s with impunity, then they started getting the fines from the RIAA. I can't WAIT. Jail time for some of you wankers, I'm sure.
Private organisations cannot fine people. The RIAA has levied no fines against individuals. There have been lawsuits and settlements, but not fines. Also, the RIAA cannot bring criminal copyright infringement charges, only civil ones. As such, you can't say "you're criminals". Criminal copyright infringement is not something that is brought against the casual software downloader, it is something that is charged against individuals that are into piracy for profit.
And it's not theft, it's copyright infringement. Theft deprives the true owner of his possession, copyright infringement doesn't.
At least if we're going to argue, let's argue using the proper terms.

Is it 1.1, 1.3 or 1.8 million laptop batteries?
I am glad to see someone else is a little confused and it wasn't just me. I have seen the 1.1 and 1.8, but not the 1.3 million batteries. I just want to know which number it really is.

However, due to the almost lack of changes in the MBP, why would the MB get any serious changes other than processor and memory bumps?
I'm not complaining. Truth be told I'd be happy with the GMA but then i'm not in the market for a new comkputer at the minute (as much as i'd love to buy one).
Looks like a slight price drop in the UK - black macbook for under 1000. Bet they shift a lot of units.

After our vacation to safari in Kenya, we flew our safari driver to America because he seemed very fascinated with america. One of the first things he noticed was "why are all the violent crimes on the media by blacks?"
His words, not mine.
From my two weeks in Kenya and from the testimony of my aunt and uncle who have been there for two years, I understand that Black culture is much more family oriented in Kenya. For the most part the culture is based on the family system and people behave (which is astounding bc all the poverty, packed urban living, and lack of reliable law enforcement would all seem to suggest it would be the other way around)

I paid for my iPhone, not apple.... How about apple let me make the choice if I want flash to run on my phone or not.
Fine. Jailbreak your phone. Of course, technically, that will void the warranty, but so would running diesel in your car if the manufacturer calls for unleaded. You might cause some damage but you can't blame Apple/the car company for that. So if/when the processor or battery heats up too much and bricks your iphone, don't go whining to apple. And when all your personal info gets hacked because of some malicious code that flash was able to run... And even when your web pages load at a snail's pace, don't blame apple. Blame Adobe Flash. Like you said, you bought your iPhone, run what you want. Just don't expect apple to fix it when it all goes wrong.

So how many people here have actually gone up to a girl youve never met and asked if she wants to share your sweaty earbuds? My guess is nobody, because its creepy as hell, its like holding hands with someone you just met that is neither your friend nor your date. It was just a PR response to a competitors product, I doubt jobs was being serious thinking people with ipods actually do stuff like that on a regular basis.
The Zune isnt really a way to pick up chicks either, I think it was more designed for friends to share music. Even having the debate is pretty pointless, its all marketting mumbo jumbo. Plus last time I checked you can share headphones with a Zune too.

The delays were actually a good thing for me. Gave me time to "cool off"
I'm with you on every point, except the cooling off period.
Now that Apple's quality control had tanked, I know that there's a great likelihood ill get a bad one and the return game will begin.
Even though I have an Apple store nearby, I buy BTO, so I'm stuck with what has become "The Crap Shoot, Gambling The Apple Way".
Yea ok, keep dreaming fantasy boy. The stories you read online dont actually count as a measure of Apples quality control.
I've never had to return any of a dozen Apple devices.

Love the colors, how they are restricted to bands in the image. Love the different patterns present in each of the bands.

Despite all the hand wringing, it's hard to imagine many happy iPhone users would defect over a three month delay.
Much better to get new features three months later than ship in summer without them and have to wait a whole extra year for them.
Speak for yourself. Us with 3GSs will jump ship, Esp with all the awesome stuff google is doing. Apple needs to get on the game and release updates more often, not the opposite. That's a horrible idea! I mean... Unlike the other manufacturers, apple only makes ONE type of new phone a year. One.
Really apple? With all your magicalness and billions of dollars you can't make one new phone a year? Pathetic. Truly. 4g is gimmicky, and I don't think it's worth selling the truly awful iPhone 4 for three more months.
Speaking of gimmicky, I don't want to have to talk to my phone to do things. This voice control better come with a UI refresh. The OS 9 look is getting long in the tooth.

ok that seems nice, but..
where's the bluetooth syncing?
it's four years people were asking for bluetooth syncing...
what's the problem with it? i don't want to unplug the cable from behind the bed, plug it to the computer just to upload my calendar, music, contacts.
..oh, ok, i've got it. maybe they just want me to subscribe to mobileMe.
i'm sick of castrated technology, i'd like to use them at their full possibilities.
