Well, I love iTunes 7
Fantastic
the get album art is SICK
the album scroll view is SICK
the gapless playback is well you get the idea!
I love it!
Just put it on my PC at work, and it's awesome
I'm a little concerned about putting it on my Mac at home because of the massive 140 gig library that it will have to process...
Hopefully it goes well,

That album is completely lame. I was bored to tears listening to it on the Virgie magastore booth...
This is the best Beatles album period: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Grey_Album
Enough Jay-Z meets the Beatles is way more creative. Someday Applecorps will need to release this.
Well it sounds pretty wonderful in 5.1 and rememberit is just really a soundtrack for a show. I find that is works wonderfully about 80% of the time and just entered the Billborad Charts at number 4..Not too shabby. There is also a different audience soundwise now who listens to most music from iPods (or the like) or from their computers, and really don't seem to listen to or care about really good high fidelity. I listen via itunes and ipods for fun and convenience but home through a really good stereo I listen mostly to vinyl and CDs. Again the DVD 5.1 of Love is one of the best sounding albums I've ever heard especially from almost 40 year old music.

I want an iPad that takes, at least reasonable quality photo's.
I would not expect DSLR quality, but if I am out and I have my iPad with me, and I wish to take a photo or a video, then at least I would like it to be of a quality that does the moment justice.
The silly thing about this argument is you are defending the indefensible.
There is no reason why a worse item is desirable over a better item all things being equal.
The only reasons are cost, size etc.
1mp camera's should have stopped being made years ago. There is no reason to deliberately make anything worse that you can, unless it's marketing and a planned strategy.
I am with you. Apple can get away with a low end camera on iPad 2 because it makes iPad 2 incrementally better than iPad.

During the course of our interview, it came out that Apple had leaned on Maynor and Ellch pretty hard not to make this an issue about the Mac drivers -- mainly because Apple had not fixed the problem yet. Maynor acknowledged that he used a third-party wireless card in the demo so as not to draw attention to the flaw resident in Macbook drivers. But he also admitted that the same flaws were resident in the default Macbook wireless device drivers, and that those drivers were identically exploitable. And that is what I reported. end quote
Watch what you connect to!
NOT! Are you serious??? - some guy writes in his blog that Apple was leaning heavily on him not to point out the problems with apples drives. Wow - it's on the internet it must be true. Oh wait - it that were right I'd have a true video iPod, a PB G5, an iPhone, and a 12 GB Nano in my ownership right now.
Give me a break - it's a blog for crying out loud - it's about as accurate as MacOSRumors.
Also, as pointed out on page 3 (I think) - the latest security update fixes this vulnerability - even tho it's still a 3rd party USB driver and I don't believe for 1 second that he used a 3rd party card out of respect for apple's wishes...

It sounds like you're hitting a limit at 32,768. That makes sense, since Int16 can only store numbers up to 32,768 (15 bits plus a sign bit) and Apple engineers probably figured that should be more than enough.;)
I hope they change this way of thinking, as I and many others are going past this number and doing so in strides.

In the process of moving so my setup is located squarely on my coffee table. Will post new pic once I am moved into my new place and set up the office.
Not shown in photo is the mountain of boxes just to the left.:D
Are those guinea pigs in the 'cage' on the right? I love guinea pigs, as you can probably tell.... ;) My actual avatar is of my brother's guinea pig. She's about 3/4 years old and such a cutie :D

I think these new MacBook will do more sound compare to the old ones due to the fan. Because these new twins in the machine are gonna heat a lot. Do you guys think so?

hey, good job actually keeping the consumer and the pro lines separate this time, no more of that "low end MBP has the same clockspeed as a high end MB"

It's a bit of a cross post, but in the "Waiting for Arrandale" thread a member mentioned going to their local Apple store to buy a MBP and the sales associate mentioned that there was a big box in back and apparently some new SKUs popped up in the system. Thought you might want to know...
So I got sick of waiting on Apple to update the MBP, so I headed down to Delaware to pick one up. While I was there, one of the sales people told me that there was some box in the back, and she really thinks it is the updated ones. She also said about some new SKUs that she saw.
I'm not sure if she knows what she is talking about, but she said she bought a MBP about a month or two ago and is sad she didn't wait because she didn't know they were updating.
It seemed pretty promising, so I figured I'd pass it along.
I have 14 days to return this one and exchange it for a new one if that does happen Tuesday :)

This speaks volumes about how far The Beatles have really come. All this time, and with all the people you have to take into consideration that already have their music...
They hit yet another milestone like this. Awesome. :)

and P.S. - Apple, your laptop line is already to expensive. Don't release a consumer product that only rich companies can buy. :(
Wow, I'm a rich company? And all this time I was thinking I'm a poor art school graduate! Gee, I wonder if I qualify for corporate welfare? I mean, I've bought MBP's and PowerBooks since they first came out...

Again as I stated before... Apple is really starting to dabble in the 3D interface. The album art is a good example of this. Granted its a rip off of someone else's idea...No idea of the name of the app but I was playing around with it a few months back that did exactly this. *shrugs* Whatever. It makes me wonder if there is any serious GUI updates for 10.5 that we have yet to see.

steve is right, the basic thing is the ipod works well, and it is very simple to use. Itunes helps everything by being a first class program that is always getting frequent updates.
only thing is, apple needs to let record labels/artists come up with variable pricing.
so catalog albums will cost less, and labels can get money from singles.
I'm hoping for an Indie section.
Really a seperate part of iTS called IndieTunes. All the Indie stuff would be kept seperate from the main catalogs. Bands can sign up, Apple can host the stuff. Apple sells the songs, they make the .10 or so (whatever they make on Label music) and the rest goes to the bands.
All the materials would be voted up or down by iTunes registered users. Stuff that's voted up stays in the catalog, stuff that's voted down to oblivion gets quietly removed from the IndieTunes catalogs. If it's a real, seperate, section then it will not get in the way of their traditional business and not get in the way of people who could care less about Indie bands.
They have the vast majority of the infrastructure in place, just not sure if they could make money. I imagine the bandwidth vs. profit might not support it.
Any thing to cut the legs off the RIAA!

I surely hope so, comics and manga would be a huge hit especially in Japan.I agree that comics etc would be big.
However - I'm also interested in the electronic Ink technologies that are easy on the eyes and require almost no battery. I doubt Apple would make such a simple device, but who knows.
It would be very interesting to read Lord of the Rings and have the soundtrack playing - synchronised to where you're up to in the book. Or the book with excerpts from the movie.

The same washington post blog mentions in the next article that the default ("built-in") wireless cards in the macbook have the same flaw. So this is a bit bigger deal than a few odd people using external cards...

I think it was Motorola's Fault to start with. Ever since the G4 Debuted they have not pushed for improvements and left Apple having to drop speeds in realeased products (500 to 450 in the original), and dual processors (July2000) with no speed bump.
Apple should have realised long ago Mot uselessness and SERIOUSLY investigated other options, so the recent 1.25 GHZ update and any future poor updates are Apple's fault!
