I've been going thru these forums for about a year now. I find good posts and opinions but I hate these snide comments from people. Not everyone is as tech savvy as many who post here. I'm sick of scrolling past these guys that have nothing better to do than mock others.

You must hate the internet then. It runs on snark.

I think you're choosing to miss my point.
No, I see what you're saying, I just disagree with it...
Whether Halo had only 4 people, 3 of them would be @$$hats
...and this is where you are wrong, in my opinion. But eh, whatever. You're free to whatever opinion you want, and free to play with whoever you want. I'll stick to playing with friends and good players, and having a great time while I do.

    --------------------

Bungie released some more details about the Matchmaking changes that are coming tomorrow. They are updating and adjusting some of the playlists and map loadouts after observing these last few weeks of play. Here is what they say is coming....

    Team Slayer
SWAT is taking one in the face (being removed) and the weighting for all other gametypes will be adjusted to fall in line with voting data. Expect surprise, surprise more traditional Slayer offerings to appear.

    Team SWAT
SWAT gametypes that are removed from other playlists are being incorporated into their own, unique playlist with adjustments made to modes and maps based on voting data (farewell SWAT on Hemorrhage, you sucked and everybody hated you).

    Team Objective
Powerhouse will now feature several more gametypes, including 1 Flag and Stockpile. Because Powerhouse is awesome and we dont get to play it enough.

    Multi Team
Rocket Race is being added. You win by staying on the Mongoose and racing to the checkpoints. (Oh, who am I kidding, youre just going to hop off and try to assassinate people, arent you?)

    Big Team Battle
SWAT and Classic are being removed and the frequency of Snipers is being reduced based on you guessed it voting data.

    Arena Doubles
Boardwalk and Pro options are both being removed. Default Zealot is being replaced with Arena Zealot, a map variant which features modified initial player spawns and a soft-kill zone in spaaaaaace.

    Team Arena
Pro options are being removed. Arena Zealot (details above), is being added.

    Score Attack
Credit earn rates for Gruntpocalypse are being reduced to fall more in line with other modes.

    General Matchmaking
Alongside the major alterations listed above, a myriad of much needed fixes and tweaks to the experience will also go into effect on Tuesday, including a metric ton of small, but annoying bugs and gameplay issues that weve identified and earmarked for eradication. As these updates go live, Jeremiah will publish the full details to our Optimatch forum so you can pore over the subtle nuances of each individual change.

I'm pretty happy with the changes, more or less. I wish Team Snipers would get its own playlist, like it had in Halo 3, so it could be removed entirely from the standard Team Slayer and Big Team playlists. I'm also happy that they've said the Scorpion is being swapped for a Wraith on Hemorrhage, so that is good as well, as the Tank would more often than not, just end up ruining the game. But I'm SUPER happy that Rocket Race is coming back!! YES!!! I'm going to be playing a ton of that, just as I did with Halo 3. :D

Is that the verdict on the screw issue?

Yes, it is. The screw has always been there. I will say that ours is no longer flush like it was at first. Brushing your hand over it means you feel the screw whereas in May we could not. So, the screw may be more noticeable if this is true for others, as well. I could see it being very annoying for some.

ATT Fanboys are really hoping for VZW to end unlimited.

VZW is going to be the biggest phone company anymore, I bet they don't get rid of unlimited data for a long time. VZW needs to stay competitive as they are not going to be the biggest company anymore....................

I hope they significantly improve the voice recognition abilities if they are to make it a more prominent feature of the OS. The voice control in iOS is appalling - it has NEVER ONCE understood me - and the results appear to be worse if talked to through the headphones mic. In fact, I'm always forced to scurry into my pocket to try to cancel a call to some person I haven't spoken to in years...

Maybe it just doesn't work with British accents?

It was ONE question, not a first and a second one. Whatever somebody answers to only the second half of it, is totally meaningless as long as the answer to the first half is not "yes".

Are you saying that white people are just as likely to commit gun crime Question one. No, I'm not saying whites are as likely to commit a gun crime. I have no idea if that is true or not.

but black people are more likely to get charged (no pun) with it? Yes, black people are statistically more likely to be charged with a gun crime.

On top of that, the question you did not ask, was about convictions, and the rate of convictions is higher for blacks.

As for applying this to the UK, Rovex, you may be correct. I'd have to research that.

(edit) This is a minor offense, but there is a concern that this same type of disproportionate charging and conviction carries over to more serious offenses. Link - Newspaper (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-405701/Black-people-likely-charged-cannabis-offences.html)

I believe, as scripture details, that God established a covenant with Abraham and from this covenant the Jewish nation was born.
So the all-powerful super-being took a particular interest in Abraham's plight and no other (we could in theory suggest that the deity might have tried with others but Abraham was his first real success, which would neither improve nor detract from the story). Thereafter, the lives and fates of he and his children were bound to the deity, which bestowed upon them boons and miseries, as it saw fit.

Yet Mighty Yggdrasil, the Songlines, Sun Wukong, Tyhee Saghalie, etc, these are more absurd than the concept of an exclusive god? You earlier put forth that unbelievers cannot do good that is not vain or self glorifying: the history of your religion (by the approved texts) shows that you do have an intimate understanding of what those terms mean.
I understand that you think your view of the evidence is the correct view and I respect your right to have that opinion. However, the whole of both the Jewish and the Christian faith would disagree.
    And the truth is democratic.

video and reading both require looking at the screen and less frequent input, and therfore would work well with a big screened, controls on back or sides style device.
The big problem is that the best display technology for reading (eInk) does not work for video, currently (too slow refresh rate). I would love one device for video and books, but it comes back to the ease of reading / power issue.

Thanks! I was waiting for the sunset over the city last night and the clouds screwed me. So I stuck around in the cold and took some night shots. Here's another from the same bench that I didn't like as much.

No, agreed, the first one is much better. I like the emptiness contrasted with the big city sky. It gives it a nice, romantic and almost nostalgic feeling.

Here's one from my latest concert shoot, Streetlight Manifesto. I had forgotten how much fun ska punk was! These guys were all over the place. I got lucky with this shot and timed it just when someone else released their flash from a P&S.

Take 5 minutes and watch this outstanding response to Obama's speech by Freshman Senator Rand Paul:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrrV_Txg47Q

Intervening in a civil war in a tribal society in which our government admits we have no vital interests to help people we do not know, simply does not make any sense.

What did you think of Obama's speech? Of Paul's? Which one more reflects your own worldview?

For me personally, this really emphasizes to me that 'change' isn't just a slogan; its an ideology, it's a worldview. It's time to start standing up for smaller government, less foreign entanglements, less debt, less stimulus, less handouts, less, less, less. Obama won't get you there, he's just more of the same... only worse. People like Rand Paul and his father represent real change, beyond what either two major parties have been able to offer during the past 100 years.

    Complete Transcript:
The President of the United States often faces unforeseeable dilemmas that demand tough decisions based on reliable intelligence. The recent events in Libya presented President Obama with such a scenario. But how our Commander in Chief chose to handle this new dilemma raises serious questions about his understanding of constitutional checks and balances.

Libyan President Moammar Gadhafi is every bit the madman Ronald Reagan once said he was, but are the rebels adherents to Jeffersonian democracy or Bin Laden's radical jihad?

In then-candidate Obama said that "The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation."

I agree with candidate Obama. Unfortunately, President Obama has failed to heed his own advice. He has ignored our constitution and engaged us in a military conflict without congressional debate and approval

What imminent threat did Gadhafi or Libya pose to the United States? Obviously, the decision to take military action of this magnitude is something that should not be taken lightly, and should first require determining whether it is in the United States' vital national interest.

Over the weekend, even Defense Secretary Robert Gates admitted that America has no vital interest in Libya.

Our brave men and women in uniform are patriotic defenders of our nation. They are members of the greatest military in the world, and in times of war, I am confident of their willingness and ability to ensure that our vital interests are protected.

But they should not be asked to be nation-builders or the world's policemen. And they should serve in wars authorized and called for by the United States Congress, not the United Nations.

At the moment, there are uprisings taking place across the Middle East. The problem with sending U.S. military to help rebels in Libya or anywhere else is that we are taking sides in a conflict and on behalf of a people whom we know nothing about.

When, or if, there is regime change in Libya, what kind of leadership, exactly, will replace Gadhafi? Who are the Libyan rebels exactly? The Daily Telegraph newspaper in London reported over the weekend that some Libyan rebel leaders now claim they have members of al-Qaida within their ranks and are glad to have them. Why do we have American soldiers, our best and bravest, helping people in Libya who may be the very same people we ask our military to fight in Afghanistan and Iraq?

Intervening in a civil war in a tribal society in which our government admits we have no vital interests to help people we do not know, simply does not make any sense. Libyan society is complicated, and we simply do not know enough about the potential outcomes or leaders to know if this will end up in the interests of the United States, or if we are in fact helping to install a radical Islamic government in the place of a secular dictatorship.

Of even more lasting concern is how our troops were committed to this battle by President Obama.

The Founding Fathers understood the seriousness of war and thus included in our Constitution a provision stating that only Congress can declare war. The decision to wage war should not be taken cavalierly. As Madison wrote:

"The Constitution supposes what the history of all Governments demonstrates, that the executive is the branch of power most interested in war and most prone to it. It has accordingly with studied care vested the question of war in the Legislature."

If President Obama had consulted Congress, as our Constitution requires him to do, perhaps we could have debated these questions before hastily involving ourselves in yet another Middle Eastern conflict.

The Constitution doesn't say the president can wage war after he talks to a handful of Congressional leaders.

The Constitution says Congress - all of Congress - is responsible for declaring war.

While the President is the commander of our armed forces, he is not a king. He may involve those forces in military conflict only when authorized by Congress or in response to an imminent threat. Neither was the case here.

We are already in two wars that we are not paying for. We are waging war across the Middle East on a credit card, one whose limit is rapidly approaching. And this is just wrong.

We already borrow money from countries like China to pay for our wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and it would be interesting to know how many Americans believe we should continue borrowing money and saddling future generations with debt to pay for our current actions in Libya.

The subtext to the President's speech concerning Libya tonight was "What if we had done nothing?" But a better question might be, What if helping Libya's interest actually hurts America's interests? What if we are sending our military to places where we might actually be helping the same terrorists we fight in other countries or potential future terrorists?

It's time that we re-examine these policies by once again consulting the Constitution on such matters and the common-sense principles that made this country great. We can no longer afford to spend what we don't have. And we can't afford to address every other nation's problems before we can address our own.

Over the coming days and weeks, Congress will force President Obama to confront these questions. Our brave young men and women have answered the call of duty time and time again over the past decade. Our soldiers deserve, at the very least, that before we send them into a third war that Congress - the People's House - deliberate, debate, and decide whether this war is in our vital national interests.

We will gather information, ask questions, and deliver our best advice about whether we, as the people's representatives, believe we should be at war. Whatever the outcome, we stand square behind our troops, and seek that their mission be clear and true.

Thank you for listening tonight, and God bless the United States of America.

Then why bother with the Old Testament? Seems to cause a lot of problems.

It can cause a lot of problems when people misinterpret or don't understand it. And lots of modern believers do avoid reading the old testament, especially books of the law like Leviticus and Deuteronomy (because they can be hard to understand).

For me personally, I enjoy reading the narratives of old testament figures like Abraham, David, Joshua, Moses, Solomon, Isaac, etc. etc. These people were far from perfect and much of what we learn from them is in taking note of the mistakes they made. It gives me comfort knowing that if God can use them then he can possibly use me despite the numerous mistakes I make.

Then there are the accounts of people like Job and Joseph. These stories provide such great encouragment as you see how they navigated and overcame such great hardship. Reading their stories provides hope.

Wisdom and poetry books like Psalms and Proverbs are also encouraging and easy to read with their straight forward style and memorable sayings.

I'd encourage everyone to read the Bible. Even if you don't believe it is divinely inspired you can still learn from the collective wisdom of what it contains. It seems that the atheist book the OP started this thread about would contain a good collection of human wisdom and knowledge. I don't know about it being representative of the beliefs of all atheist, but it most likely contains good information from the experiences of those who have gone before us. I would like to think that non-believers could view the Bible in much the same way regardless of whether they believe in God.

Great question lee, thanks for asking. :)

I don't see how this comes as a surprise.

Blacks lack a positive male figure; all of this rap and hip hop culture doesn't help them, gangs terrorizing otherwise calm neighborhoods with ignorance and loudness, old banged up Buicks and Chevys with stupid big rims, rattling trunks, etc

They need a positive male figure to look up to or else these numbers will just end up higher.

Again, WHY do they lack positive male figures? I'm trying to get down to the bottom of this. I know they have poverty in their communities, i know there is a lack of black men who take responsibility for children and knock women up one after another. It's not only poor black men that knock women up, filthy rich rappers do the same thing, so poverty has nothing to do with it. Only difference is rappers can afford to pay child support, even though they usually "sing" about not paying it. But i'm asking why it is like this. Is it a genetic thing or is it a cultural thing?

I don't want to be viewed as a racist but rather a realist who takes factors into account, it's the sad truth

By the things i have seen you say on these forums, you do come off as racist, an anti-semite, and a homophobe.
