Milo helped me find 2 iPads at a Best Buy in my local area. Unfortunately, the site has shown 'sold out' everywhere for the last few days.
That's because Best Buy stopped showing iPad 2 availability online a few weeks ago (and Milo requires this), because they are currently trying to fill their backlog of orders and reservations with every iPad they get. They stopped taking orders at the same time. Once they fulfill all their orders and start having stock, I'm sure they will switch the future back on, that let's you check local inventory.
On a side note, I went to an Apple store in Indianapolis, at 9:30am at the end of last week and there were about 150+ people in line. I didn't realize they were still opening the store an hour early every day to sell the iPads they had received in the previous day. I wonder how long this will go on for.

AMOLED technology is still in its refinement stage, but shows much better promise than 3D. But having taken a look at it on some of the samsung phones, then compared it to a retina display? Things like movies and photo's look very good. Text and web browsing may need improvement but everybody seems to jump onto the bandwagon if apple says jump.
Biggest issue with 3D is the premium that they charge for all the crap. Here in Australia movies are already expensive ($18 for an adult, $15 for students, $11 for both on tight ass tuesday), but they put a big mark up on 3D ($21 for adults and $18 for students, no tight ass tuesdays). When you go to see a movie in 2D, that's been advertised in 3D, they'll show it on a small screen with average sound.
Make no mistake, the ONLY reason movie companies are pushing this junk is for the mark up. They'll do the same for the content on a 3D iPad. Charge us more for something we don't really want, provide a less than quality 2D version to force us to do everything in 3D so that they can increase the depth of their back pocket.

Is it just me, or does the new iTunes logo look horrible in the dock? It doesnt seem to match anything, and it just doesnt look as "clean" as the typical dock logos have been/should be. When i went to click iTunes for the first time and it changed from the nice/clean green logo to this blue cheesy looking 1995 icon, I was pretty surprised!
it doesn't look right to me. The icon seems HUGE, it seems like the used every single pixel available to them while other icons were allowed to breathe.
Check it..

Apples exists to compete with PCs and one of, if not THE major element of that is having the best/fastest hardware! If Apple didn't want to compete with PCs, then they wouldn't make so much out of the MGz myth and say that "Apple Mac X will outperform Wintel X, even with two thirds of the processor speed!".
Apple needs to do something fast, beause virtually forcing schools across America to take on Macs and whining that Microsoft are big bullies isn't going to help them.
Sorry, i'm being a bit extreme, but i wish Apple would hurry up and do something.
PCs are the competition and releasing an update of a product every six months, while the competition is constantly updating, isn't going to work for them for much longer.

Agreed! And one of the reasons Apple isn't working fast enough is because you're all so busy kissing their @ss! Start a petition (http://www.petitiononline.com), write an email, send a fax or even write a letter telling Apple to release the latest batch of Hardware and then get on with moving this company forward.

Do you have any idea of how racist and xenophobic that sounds?
Why is it racist and/or xenophobic to point out unpleasant trends?
In the US, black offenders make up nearly 30% of all arrests despite comprising only 12.5% of the general population. What's interesting is that if we break it down into pre-and post age 18, the percentages are roughly the same. (sources from 2008-9 data - wiki and FBI (http://www2.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2009/data/table_43.html)
The trend continues if we go across the pond - (source - BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/6753695.stm)) I had trouble finding figures for adults, but:
Black people make up 2.7% of the UK population aged 10 to 17, but represent 8.5% of those in that age group arrested in England and Wales, the report said.
Now, let's look at Sweden. It's difficult to get precise statistics because of the way Sweden records criminal activity, but this article (http://super-economy.blogspot.com/2010/04/immigrant-crime-in-sweden.html) extrapolates the crime rate attributable to immigrants in Sweden. To wit:
The over-representation is even higher for middle eastern citizens, who are 6.6 as likely as Swedish citizens to be in prison.
Lastly African citizens are 10.9 times as likely as Swedish citizens to be in prison.
We see the same pattern in three different countries. It doesn't behoove us to simply cry "racism" when confronted with something we don't want to see. We do better for everyone, not just the affected group, to attempt to find the root of the problem and properly address it.
Britain is very class based, and is probably racist too. Black people here are generally poor and don't do particularly well at school as well.
While I appreciate the correlation between poverty and crime, that doesn't adequately explain why Sweden with its incredibly generous welfare system trends the same way as countries with less extensive benefits.

I'm not holding my breath on the Top secret features...it could have been a joke.
ALTHOUGH, Tiger included some features that were so top secret--like the exclusive dotMac widgets--that Apple couldn't even include them in the final release, so you never know! ;)
hopefully we do get some really good "top-secret" stuff. Time Machine sounds like the utility in windose xp called systen restore and Spaces sounds like Expos.

Whats the point in the 8 gig when you can get so much more capacity for only £20 more?!
Seems fairly bizarre really, you'd have to really like little black things to bother surely!
anyone getting one care to explain your rationale?

I have it on relatively good authority that they change the banner after the keynote. Seems ridiculous to me though.
Maybe the real banner is being obstructed by the current one?
Would be a smart way to get rumor sites to just stew in their own juices. Rather than have a mysterious banner under a drape, just show a 'fake' banner.
Think about it - if the current banner shows all the current products, then doesn't that preclude the introduction of replacements?

Well, not bad of an upgrade. 1Gb standard on the 2Ghz models is about right.
Other than that, pretty much the same. (bar the different HD sizes)

Most people ship with 512mb in their base laptops at the moment and as for the combo drive the vast majority of us never even think about burning a dvd. Better to release a cheaper model and offer the user the chance to upgrade than price people out with unrequired features - although obviously a gb of ram would be handy.
Not in that price range they don't...and 749 isn't cheap. Have you seen the PC World TV ad for the 699 core 2 lap top?
Yes you get great software with a Mac - iLife, unfortunately, half of it is useless (iMovie, iDVD) because you have a combo drive.

I suggest everyone give this a shot...

This is a pretty cool exercise. I just fixed the US budget problems, and was able to increase spending on education, environmental protection, and assistance for low income families. All while shoring up social security and increasing benefits. Give it a shot everyone!
Your budget deficit for 2015: Surplus of 221.9B
Percentage of long term social security solved - 125%
TAX THE RICH, TAX THE RICH oh and cut military spending by 80%
Problem solved

First, these definitely use Merom, the 'mobile' version of the Core 2 Duo. This means a slower front side bus, lower top-end speed, but lower power consumption as well. (The 2.33 GHz Merom only puts out 35 watts, where the 2.4 GHz Conroe puts out 65 watts. Other than that and the front side bus, there is no other difference between the two chips.)
The low end model appears to be the same as the previous education-only model, only with a Core 2 thrown in. While nice from a cost point of view, it does mean it has 'cut down' Intel graphics instead of even the stock ATI graphics.
The faster 17" model appears to be the exact guts as the previous generation model, with a Core 2 thrown in. It's the 20" and the new 24" models that are interesting.

This is not true. There is no specific assertion in the Old Testament of any triune nature of god.
I could type up a bunch of stuff, but this website (http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/triunity.html) does a good job of covering all the bases regarding our difference of opinion on this matter. Here's two quick excerpts:
Jews say that the Shema (pronounced Shmah), "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord"1 contradicts the Christian doctrine that Jesus is God. In addition, there are a number of other verses that proclaim that God is one (see God is One). However, the triunity of God is taught throughout the Old Testament, including the Shema! How can a statement of oneness imply plurality? The word translated "one" from the Hebrew is echad, which demonstrates compound unity of oneness.
and
Some of the verses above include all members of the triunity (Isaiah 42:1, Isaiah 48:16, and Isaiah 61:1). Therefore, the Old Testament does reveal the Christian concept of the Godhead, with God being one God, consisting of three persons.
Remember what I said in the beginning. Complete understanding of the old testament comes through knowledge gained by the revelation of the new testament. They really can't be separated in terms of understanding the whole of God's message and work throughout history. Additionally, for the average person (who cannot read Hebrew and is not familiar with Jewish history and doctrine) it could be difficult to see the trinity in the old testament. That's why I suggest to people that they invest in a study Bible, possibly a Bible Encyclopedia, and some commentaries. These additional tools can help bring out the contextual clues provided by the original languages, the historical context, and the skill of cross referencing within the Bible.
Of course not any interpretation is valid; however, the Bible is very complex and contradicts itself in places. There is no set interpretation that can said to be right, rather a spectrum that can be justified. "Clear" is not a word I would use.
Again, we'll just have to agree to disagree. The Bible does not contradict itself in it's overall message of God's revelation of himself and plan for restoring the relationship with man that was destroyed by sin. Sure there are differences of application and interpretation regarding secondary matters (food laws, sexuality, alcohol, etc. etc.) and that is why we have different denominations within the Christian faith. However, the primary matter of who God is, how he dealt with the problem of sin, and how he we are to treat one another is clear and without contradiction. That is why I feel confident in telling you that Westboro is "off the mark" because they are not following Christ's example with how they treat their fellow man and how they represent God to others.
I realize that, to you, what I'm about to say might be viewed as an issue of semantics or "word manipulation", but to a genuine follower of Christ there is no such thing as "my interpretation". I believe what God says in his word and if I am confused about something I look to other parts of scripture to help me get at the correct interpretation of what is confusing me. You see it doesn't matter what I think or what I wish it would say, I come to the Bible with no preconceived notions and let it stand on it's own.
This is obviously where we part ways. For me the Bible is the product of man. Nothing more.
I understand. In most, if not all, of these discussions the eventual impasse that arises is centered on the issue of faith. Some choose to believe, some don't. Some are open to putting God to the test, some are not.
