Are those guinea pigs in the 'cage' on the right? I love guinea pigs, as you can probably tell.... ;) My actual avatar is of my brother's guinea pig. She's about 3/4 years old and such a cutie :D
Indeed you are correct. That is a Guinea and his name is Chowdah.:D

Personally the Zune is looking fairly attrective right now. Ever since the 5th Gen iPod came out everyone has complained that it needed to be widescreen and have a bigger screen. I don't care for the WiFi sharing really but you have to admit the interface looks pretty nice.
To be honest I would rather have long battery hours than a bigger screen - which is doomed to drink more of the juice - or wireless capabilities.
I wouldn't like a deeper ipod just because the screen is bigger (and it will have to given that one would like the same battery hours) - my 3g ipod was thich, I don't want a 6th gen copycat!
I suppose the bigger screenw ill come sooner or later - I wouldn't mind one either - I just prefer to be actually able to watch a movie without recharging!

Why do we need a part 13?
Because the forum software has trouble with threads over 2000 posts, so ongoing threads get split into new parts around that point.

My point is, the ping-pong effect, when it was used, was deliberate. It does sound strange now, but I remember when these albums came out people listened to them on headphones and thought the effect was cool.
I'm no Beatles historian by any means, but correct me if I'm wrong: weren't the first albums recorded in mono? The stereo versions were later, rather crude simulations of stereo, which is why they never made it to CD.
You are correct sir. I'd also agree with you that Rubber Soul and Revolver are the two best albums. They should not be interfered with.

Frankly I don't know if Bluetooth would solve the wire problem. But your point is well taken a wireless drive would have its own advantages. Something would be needed of course as I'm not dismissing the need for an optical drive from time to time. My big problem with optical hardware is that it increases weight and decreases reliability...
I agree, but wireless doesn't nearly have the bandwidth necessary.
Think about it, Bluetooth is up to 3Mbps, Wireless is at 54Mbps, and your Firewire drive is 400Mbps.
And, while BT and WiFi can fluxuate, the data for hard-drives and optical drives must be constant in order to be useful. As cool as it would be streaming huge amounts of data is still beyond the current technology, even the WiMax standard is limited to around 100Mbps.
Apple's making a gamble with 802.11n, but they did the same thing with 802.11g and it worked rather well, some have stated that Apple's inclusion of 802.11g gear actually helped to force the issue.

... that the Halo community has more than it's share of people who's manhood is defined by playing online from the relative safety of their bedroom.
By nature of being one of the biggest games in the console space, it is also going to have one of the largest groups of people who are d-bags. And you can be "tired of my pat answer" all you want, but the fact is, by playing with only people I know, I don't have to deal with those d-bags. The tools are there, available for everyone to use. Add more nice players to your friends list, and set your voice settings to "Team Only" and move on. Not hard to do.

hahaha, that'd be a bit of an oversight. i wonder if the new batteries are being specially made for the recall...

Hence the name of this site: Mac Rumors.
I'll give you that not all the rumors or speculations here are "educated," but if I were to make a price bracket sheet I'd put $29 losing out in the first round and $129 in the Final Four.
Maybe the poster is talking about the family-pack.
Depending on how many in your family it's close to $ 29:-)

As the chart shows, Apple's strongest market share quarter is the 3Q of each year. The interesting thing is that the 4Q has far less drop-off in market share this year.
That indicates to me that the new MBA pulled in sales from places other than the back-to-school crowd.
If things break well, Apple may now be above the 10% threshold in US market share every quarter going forward.

Don't blame Adobe for speed
Adobe didn't write Flash. Macromedia did. Adobe bought Macromedia a few years ago (mostly because they thought Microsoft was going to) and has had to rework their products.
Adobe is redoing Flash for mobile
Which is a good thing. Adobe is working with ARM cpu and gpu makers to create this new Flash 10 for mobile devices.
The real Internet uses Flash
Don't get us started again on the webpages (NY Times, National Geographic) that Apple has retouched the Flash out of, before public demos, to hide the fact that Safari can't show them completely.
HTML5 won't stop popup ads
If the W3C hadn't screwed around for so many years, HTML5 could've been more adopted by now. Heck, is there even a video playback codec standard yet?
In any case, ad companies will always figure out something, whether it's Flash, DHTML, or whatever.
Don't like it? Most likely will have a switch
Who doesn't think that Flash would be an option that the user can turn off?

I dont want Flash banner ads crashing my phone and slowing my connection.
Sorry to single you out, but I'm sick of posts like this for one reason - Apple would not have flash on the iPhone WITHOUT AN OPTION TO TURN IT OFF. In fact that'd likely be the default and I'd have it set that way until the times I want to see streaming videos. So what exactly is the problem here?

Since when did you get to make the rules? How can we possibly have a useful discussion about race and crime if we can't talk about some of the basic underlying causes for the disparity in wealth and political power in America between white people and everybody else? Why should we forget the 3/5ths clause, Dred Scott, the Civil War, Jim Crow, the Civil Rights movement or the KKK and its children. Not to mention the slave trade that brought these people here in the first place. You might not like to talk about all those things, but you are flat out ignoring or dismissing their impact on current issues - and that is the fatal flaw in your reasoning.
So again with the boohoo sob stories of past discrimination that young blacks today have never felt? They are put at an advantage over whites today and have been for the last 40 years. And once again, you say nothing about other countries that have the same issue and no racial history like the US has, i've already asked you twice to acknowledge this and look at it in a more global way, and you keep mentioning slavery and jim crow laws which affected a tiny percentage of africans worldwide a long time ago. stop thinking only within the borders of the US. Not only do they commit a disproportionate amount of the crime in mostly white countries , they can't even seem to run their own countries in Africa without violence. WHY???? Quit it with the politically correct "the white man is bringing the black race down" BS and look at it realistically.

We have seen significant improvements with every ios upgade. There is no doubt that 5 will do great things. I personally would like to see voice to text or voice to email. It would be nice to do when in a pinch for a quick response. Also back to the iPhone 5 rumors. Do you think after last years ***** show that they are really going to leak any rumors out? They are not going to sacrifice sales. They WILL release a new phone in June/July. They cannot afford not too. Once a year is perfect. As for LTE who cares. We won't be able to use it for a while anyway. Let's work on a 3g phone that can consistently make calls first. When I do get service the 3G is plenty fast anyway. I am fine with 2-4 mb/ps. In some areas I'm only a bit over 1 and some Im under 1. That is plenty for what the phone can do now. Again, doing the upgrade in Sep will have a lot of people disappointed. Its all about perception. If they wait, even if a few months unless they announce it at WWDC it will hurt them. Now if they can justify the wait and announce it in June with LTE delivered in Sep they may have a chance. Bottom line 15 months for a phone refresh imo is weak. I just don't personally get the fascination with LTE today. It will be great but we are premature.

In your case though, companies have alternatives to get their product out. The App store is virtually a monopoly. So, a company could spend months developing an app and have it rejected for any reason. Then, they would have no alternative to make the development cost back.
We were affected by the Three20 project rejections also. It cause a delay for us which in turn caused a delay to a client. They weren't too happy about it. That said, we tell all clients that we do not control Apple's process and the risk of delays is there.
It is frustrating and hopefully they make a change soon to alleviate some of these problems.
Yep, this hits it square on the head. I was initially excited about the prospect of developing iPhone apps, but I really can't put my schedule and reputation into Apple's hands. I would certainly not want to be a consultant trying to promise an iPhone solution to a company. Basically, you throw the ball over the 10' wall to Apple and hope it comes back.

they had the nerve to sue apple over and over, jobs named apple apple as a tribute... and they were supposed to be about peace and love... and you are defenfending them... they are greedy bastards and they reaped what they sow
Suing doesn't automatically make you greedy or unpeaceful or unloving. They're protecting their property which I wouldn't fault anyone for doing (if that's all it really is.)
For the ad, I'm thinking:
"Hi, I'm a PC."
"And I'm a Mac." in a beatle wig
(crowd of screaming 12 year-old girls run in and mow down the Mac guy)
