What I want to know is how gun crime correlates to poverty regardless of race.

Hispanics are the poorest demographic in the United States, black people are the second worst off.
Further the majority of violent crimes committed by Hispanics in the united states are committed by illegals (not necessarily illegal immigrants). This allows for a-lot of the cartel based violence currently going on in Mexico (thanks to America's ridiculous drug laws) to cross the border.
While inter cartel violence is hardly a mitigating factor it does suggest that much of the violence has little relation to the communities themselves but is instead being imported.
What bother's me about this issue is that I think a-lot can be done by working with community leaders to curb these tragic issues. But before we can start confronting the issues we need to have an open conversation about them.

on the specs page for the mac mini the intel logo links to a non-exsistent page about core 2 duos....(as seen on apple insider) but all the other links to the usual intel core duo spots on the mac mini pages are down as well....change in progress. Maybe today is apple's day to completely embrace the C2D

This is a very hollow argument. For this to be valid, you have to only consider five year old computers. Consider any computer that is about two years old, and you have computers that, on the one hand, shipped with Windows XP and, on the other hand, shipped with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. Now, we have the release of Leopard and Vista! Mac users pay... $129! Windows users pay... $399! Which is cheaper?
lol, please be honest, in next 5 years, you will need only update windows once (XP->Vista), and you will need to update OSX at least 3 times. Apple is ripping people off on this, there is no question about it, all these ".1" incremental update should not have a price more than $60 at all.

So let me get this straight...Best Buy puts the iPad 2 on the front of this weeks circular, but doesn't actually have them? You're putting down $100 for a reservation? Bait and switch, false advertising anyone, since there's no mention of that in the ad?

Well since Windows has about 95% of the market, which don't include the bootcamp users, I thinking a lot of people will be.

And suggesting, or even blatantly stating, that Beatles and Madonna have transcended music more than Bach is about as musically stupid as it comes. Bach not only wrote his own music (Madonna just drops into a studio every now and then), he could also conduct orchestras (the Beatles could do one thing individually; that's why they are called the Fab FOUR), his impact on developing Baroque music is unquestioned and his composition skills and musical knowledge have been admired by the likes of Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven.

Apple saw the Blu Ray failure coming, so they didn't use Blu Ray. Can't they see that 3D has ALREADY failed?
3D movies and stuff were "popular" a while back, but not so much now. The 3D TV is a failure. I can't even see any uses for 3D on an iPad except for the occassional 3D movie, but I personally hate them because of the headaches, and I'm sure a lot of people do too.

Well my phone does not have a camera and I may not be carrying a camera at the time.
If an event occurs, then I will use whatever I have to hand at that moment.
If I happen to be carrying my DSLR then I would use that, if I happen to have the iPad in my hands then I would use that.
Again, I see no reason to select a worse device other than marketing.
In the same way, in the old days, your car may not have a stereo, but the deluxe model had a stereo. Despite it only being $20 on a $5000 car.

Microsoft has never, does not, and will never make a product with nearly a quarter of the 'cool' factor that Apple does. Microsoft may be the empresarios' top choice, but is dated, dull, dumb. Apple is innovative, young, and sexy.

That's a nice chart that does what you want to see in, say, a stock that you own: it makes higher highs and lower lows while all the while in a climbing trend.

BTW, even if I believed that Apple was going to come out with an Apple cellphone (and I don't (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=2674706&postcount=359), I've never seen so many people absolutely convinced of the existance of an unlikely product.), WWDC would unquestionably be a bad place to announce it. If you believe such a thing exists, wait for an appropriate consumer-oriented show or a special event.

Something to take into consideration:
If these guys didn't want Apple to be embarrassed, why did they go ahead and use an Apple computer? That was quite polite of them not to show how vulnerable the Airport card is...or just plain bull. I don't believe this for one second. It's all to easy to say something, but a little harder to back it up with actions.

Go read their SEC filings.
They make money selling hardware.
An operating system is a big complicated program that lets other big complicated programs co-exist peacefully on the same system. However, Apple does not generate much revenue from software sales. If they did, it would be a separate line item in their financials and they would probably need to disclose more information about software sales, since such a large part of the increase in shareholder value would be dependent on it.
Same deal with iTunes Store sales, App Store revenue, MobileMe subscriptions, etc. Not a major part of their bottom line. Apple uses software and content to drive sales of their high-margin hardware.

The other company's comparable machines to the MacBook Pro have C2D processors. The ones that compete against the MacBook don't for the most part. Apple didn't drop the ball.

Well, not bad of an upgrade. 1Gb standard on the 2Ghz models is about right.
Other than that, pretty much the same. (bar the different HD sizes)

I saw someone using one in the J&R next to where I work, but he bought a Creative Zen instead. I guess he didn't like the brown ipod-esque player.
